QuantiTect Probe PCR + UNG Kit (200)

A real-time PCR kit from QIAGEN designed for qPCR and two-step RT-PCR using sequence-specific probes, enabling sensitive quantification of genomic DNA or cDNA targets. The ready-to-use master mix combines HotStarTaq DNA Polymerase — activated at 95°C for 15 minutes, which also allows room-temperature reaction setup — with a proprietary buffer containing a balanced combination of NH₄⁺ and K⁺ ions that promotes specific primer annealing. The dNTP mix contains dUTP partially substituting for dTTP, allowing optional treatment with uracil-N-glycosylase to eliminate carryover contamination from previous PCR products.

This kit includes heat-stable uracil-N-glycosylase. ROX dye is provided for fluorescence signal normalization on Applied Biosystems instruments. The master mix can be stored at 2–8°C. The kit is compatible with most real-time cyclers, including instruments from Applied Biosystems, Bio-Rad, Cepheid, Eppendorf, Roche, and Agilent, and is manufactured under Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) principles as part of QIAGEN's Sample & Assay Technologies portfolio. When using the included heat-stable UNG, QIAGEN recommends performing subsequent PCR with an annealing step at 55°C or above, since the UNG is inactivated by incubation at 95°C for 15 minutes but may exhibit residual activity at lower temperatures due to refolding.
