QuantiFast Probe RT-PCR Kit (400)

A reverse-transcription PCR kit for probe-based detection, manufactured by QIAGEN's Sample & Assay Technologies business according to ISO 13485 principles to help ensure consistent product performance, consistent with the Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standards applied across the broader Sample & Assay Technologies portfolio. As part of the QuantiFast real-time PCR family, the kit relies on a chemical hot-start mechanism for Taq polymerase inactivation and reactivation.

This kit is being phased out. According to QIAGEN, production of the QuantiFast and Rotor-Gene PCR kit product lines is scheduled for discontinuation by June 30, 2021, with supply afterward offered only while stocks last. The manufacturer's described successor for this product line is the QuantiNova Probe RT-PCR Kit family, which QIAGEN positions as its most advanced portfolio of real-time PCR and RT-PCR kits. The QuantiFast RT kits use an RNase H+ reverse transcriptase, in contrast to the RNase H-deficient Moloney Murine Leukemia Virus Reverse Transcriptase (M-MLV RT) employed in the successor QuantiNova RT kits.
