TaqNova DNA Polymerase (2500 U)

A thermostable recombinant Taq DNA polymerase marketed under the QIAGEN brand is engineered for routine PCR workflows. The 94 kDa enzyme, isolated from Thermus aquaticus, catalyses DNA synthesis in the 5’→3’ direction, has no 3’→5’ exonuclease activity and retains 5’→3’ exonuclease activity. It is recommended for a wide range of applications requiring DNA synthesis at extremely high temperatures and is suited to standard PCR, genotyping, TA-cloning and diagnostic workflows.

The enzyme is supplied at a concentration of 5 U/µl in 20 mM Tris-HCl (pH 8.0 at 25°C), 100 mM KCl, 0.1 mM EDTA, 1 mM DTT, 0.5% (v/v) Nonidet P40, 0.5% (v/v) Tween 20 and 50% (v/v) glycerol. It is shipped on dry or blue ice and stored at −20°C. The product is provided with a 10× KCl reaction buffer, a 10× (NH4)2SO4 reaction buffer and 50 mM MgCl2.

Quality control testing in PCR with dilution series of polymerase and of human genomic DNA confirmed the preparation is free of unspecific DNA nucleases. The certificate of analysis identifies the product as developed by Blirt S.A. and states it is for research use only, not for human or animal therapeutic or diagnostic use.
