Taq PCR Master Mix Kit (250 U)

A ready-to-use 2x master mix from QIAGEN designed for fast PCR setup and consistent results. The mix combines Taq DNA Polymerase, QIAGEN PCR Buffer, dNTPs and MgCl2 in a single reagent to minimize pipetting and variability between reactions, making it suitable for routine PCR, screening and downstream cloning workflows.

Each 50 µl of 2x master mix delivers 2.5 units of Taq DNA Polymerase, 1x QIAGEN PCR Buffer (containing 1.5 mM MgCl2) and 200 µM of each dNTP per 100 µl reaction. Template DNA is added at ≤1 µg/reaction, and the recommended primer concentration is 0.2 µM of each primer. Optimized cycling begins with an initial denaturation of 3 min at 94°C, followed by 25–35 cycles of denaturation (0.5–1 min at 94°C), annealing (0.5–1 min at 50–68°C) and extension (1 min at 72°C), with a final extension of 10 min at 72°C. A No Template Control should always be included, and keeping tubes on ice until they are placed in the thermal cycler is recommended.

The kit should be stored immediately upon receipt at –30 to –15°C in a constant-temperature freezer, and the master mix should be vortexed briefly after thawing to avoid localized salt differences. After amplification, samples can be stored overnight at 2–8°C, or at –20°C for longer storage.
