STEMCELL Technologies offers this Rat Recombinant GM-CSF, a growth factor that promotes the proliferation and differentiation of hematopoietic progenitors and the generation of neutrophils, eosinophils, and macrophages.

Biological activity was tested by the ability to promote the proliferation of FDC-P1 cells. Cell proliferation was measured after 91 hours of culture using a fluorometric assay method, with the EC50 defined as the effective concentration at which cell proliferation is at 50% of maximum. The EC50 in the reported example is 0.9 - 1.3 pg/mL.

The product has a predicted molecular mass of 14.5 kDa, as visualized by SDS-PAGE under reducing and non-reducing conditions with Coomassie Blue staining. It is designed for use in research areas including immunomagnetic negative selection followed by positive selection of mouse naïve CD4+ T cells (CD4+CD62L+) from single-cell suspensions of mouse splenocytes or other tissues.
