Recombinant human ASAM (Adipocyte-Specific Adhesion Molecule), also referred to as CLMP (CXADR-Like Membrane Protein), is supplied by STEMCELL Technologies as a 100 µg lyophilized aliquot in a single vial for research applications. ASAM is a transmembrane component of epithelial tight junctions that mediates calcium-independent homophilic cell-cell adhesion and contributes to intestinal barrier integrity, adipocyte differentiation, and cell migration processes studied in vitro. The recombinant protein has been used to characterize CLMP function in colorectal carcinoma invasion models, to probe tight junction assembly in epithelial monolayers, and to generate reference standards for antibody validation. Reconstitute the lyophilized powder in sterile aqueous buffer immediately before use; store the unopened vial at -20 °C to -80 °C, protected from light, and minimize freeze-thaw cycles by aliquoting into working volumes after reconstitution. Recommended downstream applications include western blot analysis, flow cytometry-based detection of CLMP surface expression, cell adhesion assays, and immunohistochemistry on fixed tissue sections. Each lot supports reproducible biochemical and cell-based experiments in academic and translational laboratories.
