Laminin-521, 100 µg

A defined, xeno-free cell culture matrix from STEMCELL Technologies, designed to support the long-term maintenance of human embryonic stem (ES) and induced pluripotent stem (iPS) cells under feeder-free conditions. CellAdhere™ Laminin-521 is a recombinant protein composed entirely of human sequences and is intended for use with TeSR™ maintenance media such as mTeSR™1, mTeSR™ Plus, TeSR™-E8™, or TeSR™-AOF. The matrix mimics a physiologically relevant environment for human pluripotent stem cells, and when combined with mTeSR™ Plus, cultures form compact, densely packed colonies with characteristic hPSC morphology.

The system increases single-cell attachment and survival compared to other matrices and does not require the addition of apoptotic inhibitors during plating. The product is stored at -20°C to -80°C and remains stable until the expiry date on the label. For coating, thaw at 2 - 8°C before use and dilute in Dulbecco's phosphate-buffered saline with Ca++ and Mg++ to a working concentration of 5 - 10 μg/mL.

Compatible passaging reagents include Gentle Cell Dissociation Reagent and ReLeSR™ for routine passaging of PSC aggregates, or Accutase™ for single-cell passaging workflows. Users should note that passaging human ES and iPS cells as single cells may introduce selective pressure and genetic aberrations, and karyotype should be checked frequently.
