Rt Recom GM-CSF, 100 µg

Recombinant rat Granulocyte-Macrophage Colony-Stimulating Factor (GM-CSF) from STEMCELL Technologies is a bioactive cytokine supplied as a 100 µg vial for use in laboratory research. GM-CSF signals through the heterodimeric CSF2 receptor (CD116/CD131) to drive proliferation, survival, and differentiation of myeloid progenitors into neutrophils, eosinophils, and macrophages, and it is a standard supplement in rat hematopoietic and immunology workflows.

Typical applications include supporting colony-forming unit–granulocyte/macrophage (CFU-GM) assays from rat bone marrow, conditioning dendritic cell differentiation protocols from peripheral blood monocytes, maintaining mast cell and eosinophil cultures, and supplementing serum-free media during in vitro expansion of myeloid lineages. Investigators also use rat GM-CSF to probe inflammatory signaling, pulmonary alveolar macrophage biology, and transplant-rejection models in rats.

The 100 µg format supports multiple experiments at working concentrations commonly reported between 1 and 20 ng/mL for rat cell culture. The product is supplied in a single-use vial and should be stored frozen at -20 °C or colder; aliquots should be prepared upon first thaw to limit freeze-thaw loss of activity.
