Rt IgM,k Ctrl, RTK2118, PE, 100µg

This rat monoclonal isotype control antibody from STEMCELL Technologies, Clone RTK2118 (IgM, kappa), is conjugated to PE (phycoerythrin) and is suitable for use as an isotype-matched control to estimate the degree of non-specific binding by an antigen-specific antibody. The antibody recognizes keyhole limpet hemocyanin (KLH) and has unknown binding specificity, having been screened on activated, resting, live, and fixed tissues from several species, including mouse, rat, human, and non-human primates.

The immunogen used was trinitrophenol + KLH. The antibody was purified by affinity chromatography and conjugated with PE under optimal conditions, and the solution is free of unconjugated PE and unconjugated antibody. It is formulated in a phosphate-buffered solution, pH 7.2, containing 0.09% sodium azide.

This clone has been verified for use as an isotype control antibody for assessing non-specific binding to cells in flow cytometry, immunocytochemistry, and immunofluorescence microscopy applications (surface and intracellular staining). The product is stable at 2–8°C when stored undiluted; it should not be frozen and should be protected from prolonged exposure to light. The suggested use is at concentrations comparable to those of the specific antibody of interest.
