Rt IgM,k Ctrl, RTK2118, BT, 200µg

A biotin-conjugated rat monoclonal isotype control antibody from STEMCELL Technologies, intended for use as an isotype-matched control to estimate the degree of non-specific binding by an antigen-specific antibody. The RTK2118 clone is of IgM, kappa isotype and was raised against trinitrophenol conjugated with keyhole limpet hemocyanin (KLH); it recognises KLH and has unknown binding specificity. The antibody has been screened on a variety of activated, resting, live, and fixed tissues from mouse, rat, human, and non-human primate sources.

Reported applications include flow cytometry, immunoprecipitation, and Western blotting, with flow cytometry and immunofluorescence microscopy (surface and intracellular staining) verified for use as an isotype control. The product is supplied in a phosphate-buffered solution at pH 7.2 containing 0.09% sodium azide; the immunoglobulin is conjugated with biotin under optimal conditions, with purity reported at greater than 85% and free of unconjugated biotin. The product is stable at 2 - 8°C when stored undiluted and should not be frozen.
