Rt IgG2b,k Ctrl, RTK4530, PE, 25µg

From STEMCELL Technologies, this is a rat monoclonal IgG2b, kappa isotype control antibody (clone RTK4530) conjugated to PE (Phycoerythrin). It is intended for use as an isotype-matched control to estimate the degree of non-specific binding by an antigen-specific antibody. An ideal isotype control should share the same subclass of heavy chain (IgA, IgD, IgE, IgG, or IgM) and light chain (kappa or lambda) as the specific antibody in use, and a conjugated antibody should be paired with an isotype control conjugated to the same fluorochrome.

The antibody was raised against trinitrophenol + KLH. It recognises keyhole limpet hemocyanin (KLH) and has unknown binding specificity, having been screened on activated, resting, live, and fixed tissues from mouse, rat, human, and non-human primates. It is supplied in phosphate-buffered solution (pH 7.2) containing 0.09% sodium azide, purified by affinity chromatography and conjugated with PE under optimal conditions, and is free of unconjugated PE and unconjugated antibody. The clone has been verified for assessing non-specific binding to cells in flow cytometry.

The product is stable at 2–8 °C when stored undiluted and should not be frozen; it should also be protected from prolonged exposure to light. The suggested use is at concentrations comparable to those of the specific antibody of interest.
