Rt IgG1,k Ctrl, RTK2071, FI, 50µg

A rat monoclonal IgG1, kappa isotype control antibody from STEMCELL Technologies is conjugated to FITC (Fluorescein isothiocyanate) and supplied as clone RTK2071. It is intended for use as an isotype-matched control antibody to estimate the degree of non-specific binding by an antigen-specific antibody, ideally matching the same heavy chain subclass and light chain as the specific antibody being used; if a conjugated antibody is used, an isotype control conjugated to the same fluorochrome should be chosen.

The antibody recognizes keyhole limpet hemocyanin (KLH) and has unknown binding specificity, having been screened on a variety of activated, resting, live, and fixed tissues from several species, including mouse, rat, human, and non-human primates. The clone has been verified for use as an isotype control for assessing non-specific binding to cells in flow cytometry applications.

The antibody was purified by affinity chromatography and conjugated with FITC under optimal conditions, and the solution is free of unconjugated FITC. The product is formulated in a phosphate-buffered solution, pH 7.2, containing 0.09% sodium azide. It is stable when stored undiluted at 2 - 8 °C; the product should not be frozen and should be protected from prolonged exposure to light. According to its safety data sheet, the product is a clear liquid classified as not a hazardous substance or mixture.
