Rt IgG1,k Ctrl, RTK2071, BT, 50µg

A biotin-conjugated rat monoclonal IgG1, kappa isotype control antibody from STEMCELL Technologies, Clone RTK2071, is intended for use as an isotype-matched control to estimate the degree of non-specific binding by an antigen-specific antibody. The antibody is supplied at 0.5 mg/mL and recognises keyhole limpet hemocyanin with unknown binding specificity, having been screened on activated, resting, live, and fixed tissues from mouse, rat, human, and non-human primates. The immunogen used was Trinitrophenol + KLH.

Clone RTK2071 has been verified for use as an isotype control for assessing non-specific binding to cells in flow cytometry (FC) applications, with reported applications also including FC. The antibody was purified by affinity chromatography and conjugated with biotin under optimal conditions, and the solution is free of unconjugated biotin. An ideal isotype control should share the same heavy and light chain subclass as the specific antibody in use, and a conjugated isotype control should be matched to the same conjugate, helping to confirm specificity and identify non-specific binding to Fc receptors or other cell components.

The product is formulated in a phosphate-buffered solution, pH 7.2, containing 0.09% sodium azide. It is stable at 2 – 8 °C when stored undiluted and should not be frozen. The suggested use is at concentrations comparable to those of the specific antibody of interest.
