Rotor-Disc Heat Sealing Film (600)

Heat sealing film supplied by QIAGEN for sealing Rotor-Discs intended for use with the Rotor-Gene Q. The film replaces the use of caps on Rotor-Discs and is applied and sealed using the Rotor-Disc Heat Sealer. Once sealed, the film prevents contamination by providing a strong, durable, and tamper-proof seal.

Each sheet features a "SIDE UP" label to indicate correct orientation during application. Before use, the central portion of the film is removed by folding the film in half, pinching the center piece, and carefully tearing it out. The film is then placed over the Rotor-Disc so that the central hole slides easily over the cylinder of the Rotor-Disc Loading Block and onto the top of the disc, with the "SIDE UP" label positioned at the bottom of the loading block. A Rotor-Disc 72 Loading Block or a Rotor-Disc 100 Loading Block is required, and the film is compatible with both Rotor-Disc 72 and Rotor-Disc 100 formats.

After sealing, the film should be allowed to cool for approximately 10 seconds. Excess sealing film is removed by pushing it downwards to detach, rather than pulling it upwards. The associated Rotor-Disc Heat Sealer can be cleaned by wiping its outer surfaces with a lint-free cloth dampened with a 0.1% (v/v) bleach solution, followed by wiping the chamber with a lint-free cloth dampened with PCR-grade water.
