Description
From QIAGEN, this kit is designed for stabilized sample collection and high-quality RNA purification in extended or higher-throughput workflows. It combines RNAprotect reagent stabilization with silica-membrane cleanup to preserve transcriptional integrity for downstream molecular analyses.
Purification relies on silica-membrane technology that selectively binds RNA over 200 nucleotides in length. Samples are lysed in a guanidine-based buffer that immediately inactivates RNases, after which RNA binds to the RNeasy membrane. Contaminants are washed away and RNA is eluted for downstream applications such as RT-PCR. Included protocols cover starting materials including animal cells, tissues, bacteria, yeast, and plants.
