RNeasy PowerClean Pro Cleanup Kit (50)

For removing PCR inhibitors from previously purified RNA in just 7 minutes, QIAGEN's RNeasy PowerClean Pro Cleanup Kit uses Inhibitor Removal Technology® (IRT). The procedure selectively strips contaminants such as heme, polysaccharides, polyphenols, fulvic acids and dyes, leaving high-purity RNA suitable for RT-PCR amplification and other downstream applications.

RNA is captured on a silica spin-column membrane, washed and eluted. The kit has been validated with RNA isolated from a variety of problematic soils and with RNA samples spiked with commercial humic acids, and performs well on RNA from virtually any sample source, including soil, stool and wastewater. Starting RNA may appear amber to brown, indicating the presence of humics or polyphenols, although some inhibitors are colourless; the kit removes brown colour along with inhibitors.

Specifications include a binding capacity of up to 20 µg per prep, a silica spin-filter format, sample handling for all RNA sizes, and a throughput of 1–24 samples. The kit is intended for molecular biology applications and is not for the diagnosis, prevention or treatment of a disease. It was previously sold by MO BIO as the PowerClean Pro RNA Cleanup Kit.
