RNeasy MinElute Cleanup Kit (50)

QIAGEN RNA cleanup and concentration kit based on silica-membrane technology. Uses specialized RNeasy MinElute spin columns to clean up and concentrate RNA from enzymatic reactions (such as labeling or in vitro transcription), RNA isolated by alcohol-precipitation and organic-extraction methods, and to desalt RNA samples. Can also concentrate RNA prepared by silica-membrane procedures (e.g., PAXgene Blood RNA preps). Up to 45 µg RNA can be purified in a volume as low as 10 µl. The kit includes RNeasy MinElute Spin Columns, Collection Tubes (1.5 ml and 2 ml), and RNase-free Reagents.

RNeasy technology combines guanidine-isothiocyanate lysis with silica-membrane purification: lysis buffer and ethanol create conditions that promote selective binding of RNA to the membrane, contaminants are washed away, and high-quality RNA is eluted in water. Enzymatic reactions or crude RNA preps are cleaned up and concentrated in less than 15 minutes. The unique column design enables concentration of purified RNA to as little as 10 µl for downstream applications such as microarray analysis and real-time RT-PCR.
