RNeasy Micro Kit (50)

This QIAGEN kit uses silica-membrane RNeasy spin columns to purify total RNA from animal or human cells, animal or human tissues, and yeast. It provides RNeasy MinElute Spin Columns, collection tubes (1.5 ml and 2 ml), RNase-free DNase I, carrier RNA, and RNase-free reagents and buffers.

Total RNA is reliably purified from small numbers of cells, including a single cell, and from small amounts of standard tissues, with efficient on-column digestion of genomic DNA. The procedure involves sample lysis, homogenization, ethanol addition, binding to the silica membrane, washing of contaminants, optional on-column DNase treatment, and elution in water.

RNA purified with this technology has A260/280 ratios of 1.9–2.1 (measured in 10 mM Tris·Cl, pH 7.5) and is suitable for RNA-seq, quantitative real-time RT-PCR, end-point RT-PCR, Northern/dot/slot blotting, array analysis, and Poly A+ RNA selection.
