RNeasy DSP MinElute Cleanup Kit

A manual cleanup and concentration kit from QIAGEN designed for purifying pre-purified total RNA for use with in-vitro diagnostic QIAGEN products. The kit targets total RNA and is intended for downstream detection procedures in molecular diagnostics, such as PCR, using a MinElute spin column format based on silica technology.

The procedure follows a simple bind–wash–elute workflow. A guanidine isothiocyanate-containing lysis buffer and ethanol are added to the sample to create conditions that promote selective binding of RNA to the RNeasy MinElute membrane. The sample is then applied to the RNeasy MinElute spin column, where RNA binds to the silica membrane and contaminants are efficiently washed away. Pure concentrated RNA is eluted in a small volume of RNase-free water, with a specified elution volume of 10–14 µL. Processing is manual by centrifugation.

RNA purified with the kit is suitable for sensitive analytical detection in downstream assays such as qPCR. Detailed protocols can be found in the instructions for use of the corresponding downstream applications.
