RNase Inhibitor Hu (2000 U)

From QIAGEN, this heat-stable recombinant ribonuclease inhibitor is a 50 kDa human placental protein expressed in Escherichia coli. It inhibits common eukaryotic RNases such as RNase A, RNase B and RNase C without interfering with polymerases or reverse transcriptases.

The enzyme retains full stability at 37°C for at least 4 weeks, remains active at 50°C for at least 24 hours and stays fully active for two hours at 60°C. It is supplied in 20 mM Hepes-KOH (pH 7.6), 50 mM KCl, 8 mM reducing agent and 50% (v/v) glycerol. One unit is defined as the amount of enzyme required to inhibit the activity of 5 ng RNase A by 50%. Activity and RNA protection are retained over a pH range from 5.5 to 9.0, and the enzyme remains active through multiple freeze-thaw cycles.

Quality control confirms >90% purity by SDS-PAGE, with no RNase, latent RNase, exonuclease or endonuclease contamination detected.
