RNase Inhibitor Hu (10000 U)

QIAGEN offers this heat-stable recombinant human placental protein expressed in Escherichia coli as a 50 kDa ribonuclease inhibitor designed to protect RNA integrity across demanding molecular biology workflows. The enzyme inhibits common eukaryotic RNases such as RNase A, RNase B and RNase C, while showing no interference with DNA polymerases or reverse transcriptases including AMV or M-MuLV.

The inhibitor is supplied in 20 mM Hepes-KOH (pH 7.6), 50 mM KCl, 8 mM reducing agent and 50% (v/v) glycerol, and requires a final DTT concentration of 0.5–1 mM for optimal activity. It retains full stability at 37 °C for at least 4 weeks, demonstrates stable activity at 50 °C for at least 24 hours, and remains fully active at 60 °C for two hours, supporting use in reverse transcription, amplification and other high-temperature applications. The product also retains activity across a broad pH range from 5.5 to 9.0, withstands at least 10 freeze-thaw cycles between –78 °C and room temperature and at least 20 cycles between –20 °C and room temperature, and is available in a high-concentration formulation at 100 kU/mL. Quality control confirms >90% purity by SDS-PAGE with no detected RNase, latent RNase, exonuclease or endonuclease contamination, and the enzyme is free of DNase and RNase activity. One unit is defined as the amount of enzyme required to inhibit 5 ng RNase A by 50%, with a typical working range of 1–2 U/µL.
