REPLI-g Cell WGA & WTA Kit (48)

From QIAGEN, this kit uniquely enables uniform whole genome amplification (WGA) and whole transcriptome amplification (WTA) in parallel reactions, allowing direct correlation of genomic DNA with transcriptome profiles from very small samples of 25–1000 cells. Dedicated buffers and reagents undergo a controlled decontamination procedure to block amplification of contaminating nucleic acids, while an innovative lysis buffer stabilises cellular nucleic acids to ensure accurate representation of both genomic DNA and RNA levels.

The workflow combines Multiple Displacement Amplification (MDA) with reverse transcription, using the REPLI-g SensiPhi DNA Polymerase to deliver unbiased amplification of genomic DNA alongside total RNA or mRNA (poly A+). Compared with PCR-based amplification approaches, fidelity rates are reportedly increased up to 1000-fold, helping to minimise costly false-positive or false-negative results. The kit is intended for molecular biology research applications only and is not designed for the diagnosis, prevention, or treatment of disease.

Purified amplified material is well suited to downstream applications such as next-generation sequencing, quantitative PCR, Sanger sequencing, microarray analysis, SNP genotyping and biomarker research. Amplified DNA/cDNA typically measures between approximately 2000 bp and 70,000 bp in length, and the kit should be stored at –20°C.
