EpiTect Plus DNA Bisulfite Kit (48)

QIAGEN's EpiTect Plus DNA Bisulfite Kit enables complete DNA bisulfite conversion from various starting materials without requiring prior DNA isolation. The kit uses MinElute DNA spin columns and is designed for genomic DNA input amounts of 1 ng to 2 µg, with an elution volume of ≥10 µl. It achieves a conversion efficiency of greater than 99% and supports automation on the QIAcube platform using a centrifugation protocol.

Incorporating DNA Protect Technology, the kit minimises DNA fragmentation typically associated with bisulfite treatment at high temperatures and low pH, while also maintaining single-stranded DNA for complete cytosine conversion. The pH indicator dye in DNA Protect Buffer serves as a mixing control to confirm the correct pH for conversion. Typically over 80% of DNA can be recovered after bisulfite conversion. The kit is suitable for conversion of 1 ng–2 µg DNA in a volume of 20 µl, or 1–500 ng DNA in a volume of 40 µl, delivering fully converted DNA with minimal degradation that can be eluted in as little as 10 µl.

Converted DNA is ready for a range of downstream applications. The MinElute spin columns included with this kit have a lower elution volume, lower dead volume, and lower absolute binding capacity than the standard EpiTect spin columns, while conversion and recovery rates are equivalent. The kit forms part of QIAGEN's integrated system of three EpiTect Plus Bisulfite Kits, alongside the LyseAll and FFPE versions, expanding the range of starting materials that can be prepared for bisulfite-converted workflows.
