Rat XpressRef Universal Total RNA

This QIAGEN reference RNA is designed for use as an internal control in array analysis and as a positive control for molecular biology workflows. Derived from rat, it provides a broad representation of genes and contains both small and large RNA species, supporting assay validation, calibration, and comparative gene expression studies. The product enables troubleshooting in real-time or semi-quantitative RT-PCR gene expression analyses when the gene of interest is difficult to detect, and can be used to optimize such assays when experimental RNA samples are precious by allowing the determination of amplification efficiencies.

Handling guidance recommends keeping the material frozen and working under RNase-free conditions to preserve integrity. The RNA is shipped at –20°C and should be stored at –80°C for long-term preservation, remaining stable for one year after receipt under these conditions. Quality is verified by the observation of distinct 28S and 18S ribosomal bands with denaturing agarose-gel electrophoresis. The product is intended for molecular biology applications and is not intended for the diagnosis, prevention, or treatment of a disease.
