QuantiTect Virus Kit (50)

A real-time PCR kit from QIAGEN designed for sensitive detection of viral nucleic acids. The kit employs HotStarTaq recombinant DNA polymerase from Th. aquaticus (94 kDa), which requires a 15-minute activation step at 95 °C. It is supplied as a master mix containing buffers, nucleotides, and active components, with optional dyes such as ROX and SYBR Green included for signal generation.

The chemistry supports detection systems including SYBR Green, TaqMan, FRET probes, and Molecular Beacons, and can be used alongside uracil-N-glycosylase (UNG) for removal of PCR products; UNG is inactivated at 95 °C during the 15-minute activation step. The formulation helps reduce inhibitor effects commonly encountered in clinical and environmental specimens and is compatible with common qPCR platforms for viral detection and quantification workflows.

Reagents should be stored at −20 °C to maintain integrity.
