QuantiTect Virus Kit (200)

A molecular biology reagent kit from QIAGEN designed for highly sensitive real-time PCR and one-step RT-PCR detection of viral DNA and RNA using sequence-specific probes. The system supports both singleplex and multiplex assay formats, with reactions performed with or without a reverse-transcription step, enabling flexible detection of RNA targets, DNA targets, or both in the same vessel.

The kit is supplied as a 5x concentrated mastermix that contains HotStarTaq Plus DNA Polymerase, a proprietary buffer optimised for highly sensitive detection of viral nucleic acids (including a multiplex-PCR–enabling Factor MP), an ultrapure dNTP mix, and ROX passive reference dye. Also included are a 100x reverse-transcription mix based on a unique formulation of Sensiscript Reverse Transcriptase, RNase-free water, and a proprietary nucleic acid dilution buffer for the dilution and storage of nucleic acid standards.

Up to six probes labelled with different dyes can be analysed simultaneously in the same reaction, and the kit is compatible with most real-time thermal cyclers, excluding capillary systems such as LightCycler 1.x and 2.0. Kits are shipped on dry ice and should be stored at –15 to –30 °C. The product is intended for molecular biology applications and is not for the diagnosis, prevention, or treatment of disease.
