QuantiTect Multiplex PCR Kit (1000)

Designed for quantitative, multiplex, real-time PCR and two-step RT-PCR with sequence-specific probes, this kit from QIAGEN delivers accurate real-time PCR quantification of DNA and cDNA targets in a multiplex format. Depending on the real-time cycler used, up to 5 targets can be quantified simultaneously in the same well or tube, and the kits are compatible with all types of probe chemistries, providing flexibility in probe selection.

The kit is supplied with 2x QuantiTect Multiplex PCR Master Mix, which contains HotStarTaq DNA Polymerase, QuantiTect Multiplex PCR Buffer (containing 11 mM MgCl2), a dNTP mix of dATP, dCTP, dGTP, and dTTP/dUTP, and ROX passive reference dye, together with RNase-Free Water. HotStarTaq DNA Polymerase is a modified form of a recombinant 94 kDa DNA polymerase originally isolated from Thermus aquaticus, provided in an inactive state and activated at the start of a reaction by a 15-minute, 95°C incubation step. This hot-start activation, combined with the specialized buffer, achieves high specificity and sensitivity without time-consuming optimization, and ensures that PCR products in a multiplex reaction are amplified with the same efficiency and sensitivity as those in corresponding singleplex reactions. The kits also support the use of uracil-N-glycosylase (UNG), and the master mix containing ROX dye is optimized for real-time cyclers that require ROX for fluorescence normalization.

QuantiTect Multiplex PCR Kits are shipped on dry ice and should be stored immediately upon receipt at –20°C in a constant-temperature freezer, protected from light. The 2x QuantiTect Multiplex PCR Master Mix can also be stored at 2–8°C for up to 6 months, depending on the expiration date, without showing any reduction in performance. Each kit component is tested against predetermined specifications in accordance with QIAGEN's ISO-certified Quality Management System to ensure consistent product quality. The kits are intended for molecular biology applications and are not intended for the diagnosis, prevention, or treatment of a disease.
