QuantiNova LNA Probe PCR Assay (750) - FAM

An LNA probe-based real-time PCR assay from QIAGEN uses a FAM-labelled probe to provide a bright, reliable signal for sensitive target detection and quantification. The pre-designed assay delivers LNA-modified primers for probe-based qPCR or dPCR, intended for mRNA and lncRNA detection.

LNA positioning combined with Tm normalisation gives the primers a higher binding affinity than standard DNA primers, substantially improving both sensitivity and specificity. The chemistry supports amplification efficiency down to a single RNA molecule, making it easier to detect low-abundance targets such as lncRNA from limited starting material. Higher specificity yields an improved signal-to-noise ratio, allowing discrimination of sequences that differ by only a single nucleotide and reducing non-specific amplification and primer-dimer formation.

More than 1.3 million assays have been designed with experimentally validated algorithms to deliver accurate, sensitive, and effective mRNA and lncRNA analysis. The pre-designed set covers most transcripts of human, mouse, and rat genes in the Ensembl database. Most assays are intron-spanning and detect RNA only; assays that do not span introns are marked accordingly, and genomic-DNA signals in such targets can be removed using the QuantiTect Reverse Transcription Kit.
