QuantiFast Pathogen PCR +IC Kit (100)

From QIAGEN, this kit enables sensitive and rapid real-time PCR detection of pathogen DNA using sequence-specific probes, with an included internal control that supports correct interpretation of negative results. The system allows multiplex amplification, enabling simultaneous detection of up to four user-defined pathogen targets (such as viruses, bacteria, or fungi) together with the internal control in a single reaction, which improves reliability and reduces manual handling errors.

Key components include a 5x QuantiFast Pathogen PCR Master Mix formulated for high-sensitivity detection, HotStarTaq Plus DNA Polymerase activated by a 5-minute 95°C incubation (permitting room-temperature reaction setup), and an optimized QuantiFast Pathogen Buffer containing balanced K+ and NH4+ ions along with a unique Factor MP that promotes specific primer-probe binding. A Q-Bond additive shortens denaturation, annealing, and extension times for faster PCR cycling. The Internal Control Assay supplies a primer-probe mix using TaqMan chemistry labeled with MAX (equivalent to HEX or VIC), together with an Internal Control DNA template that functions as a universal DNA amplification control for different pathogens. Two ROX dye solutions are provided at different concentrations for signal normalization on Applied Biosystems 7500, 7900, and StepOne real-time cyclers, with the lower-concentration dye also suitable for Stratagene instruments. QuantiTect Nucleic Acid Dilution Buffer stabilizes DNA standards during dilution and storage, and the ready-to-use premix can be stored at 2–8°C.

Optimized protocols are provided for TaqMan probe chemistry and require no reaction-condition optimization. The kit is compatible with real-time PCR instruments from QIAGEN, Applied Biosystems, Bio-Rad, Roche, and Agilent, allowing users to simply combine the premix with detection reagents (primers and probes), the Internal Control Assay, and Internal Control DNA before adding sample template.
