QuantiFast Multiplex PCR +R Kit (2000)

From QIAGEN, this kit is designed for fast, multiplex, real-time PCR and two-step qRT-PCR using sequence-specific probes. It enables fast and reliable quantification of up to four cDNA or gDNA targets in a single tube by multiplex, real-time PCR or two-step RT-PCR, on standard as well as fast cyclers, without the need for optimization.

The ready-to-use master mix combines HotStarTaq Plus DNA Polymerase (activated in 5 minutes at 95°C) with a specially developed QuantiFast Multiplex PCR Buffer containing a balanced combination of K+ and NH4+ ions, the synthetic Factor MP that promotes stable and efficient annealing of primers and probes, and the unique Q-Bond additive, which reduces denaturation, annealing, and extension times for faster cycling. ROX passive reference dye is supplied in a separate tube, making the kit suitable for the Applied Biosystems 7500 and instruments from Bio-Rad, Cepheid, Eppendorf, QIAGEN, Roche, Agilent, and other suppliers. The master mix can be stored at 2–8°C.

The kit reduces PCR run times by up to 50% and can detect as little as 10 copies of target in approximately 60 minutes, while delivering results comparable to singleplex PCR across a wide dynamic range. For Rotor-Gene instruments, the dedicated Rotor-Gene Multiplex PCR Kit is recommended instead. Please note: production of the QuantiFast kits was discontinued in mid-2021 and availability is limited to remaining stock; the recommended successor is the QuantiNova Multiplex PCR Kit.
