A hot-start DNA polymerase from QIAGEN, QN Taq Polymerase is purpose-built for the amplification and quantification of next-generation sequencing (NGS) libraries. The enzyme integrates directly into QIAseq targeted-panel workflows, providing uniform coverage across indexed adapters and minimizing the PCR bias that can otherwise distort read distribution on Illumina and other sequencing platforms. Its hot-start formulation keeps the polymerase inactive below the initial denaturation temperature, which suppresses primer-dimer formation and off-target priming when amplifying libraries prepared from low-input or degraded DNA. Researchers typically deploy the polymerase in the post-ligation amplification step prior to library cleanup, then again during library quantification to size selected pools accurately. The enzyme ships ready to combine with the appropriate QIAseq primer mix and buffer, reducing pipetting steps and standardizing yield across operators. Store at -20 °C and protect from repeated freeze-thaw cycles; thaw on ice immediately before use. For research use only, not for diagnostic procedures.
