QIAwave DNA/RNA Mini Kit (50)

A more eco-friendly alternative to the standard AllPrep DNA/RNA Mini Kit, the QIAGEN QIAwave DNA/RNA Mini Kit enables simultaneous purification of genomic DNA and total RNA from a single sample of cells or tissue. Because the sample does not need to be divided into two procedures, maximum yields of both analytes can be achieved. The kit uses silica technology in a spin-column format and supports manual processing by centrifugation as well as automation on the QIAcube Connect.

Validated sample amounts are up to 1 × 10^7 cells or 30 mg of tissue, with a typical prep time of 35 minutes. DNA is eluted in 100 µL of Buffer EB and the purified genomic DNA has an average length of 15–30 kb, depending on homogenization conditions. The eluted DNA and RNA are ready for downstream applications including PCR, real-time PCR, dPCR, microarray, blotting, next-generation sequencing, and cDNA synthesis.

Compared with the standard AllPrep DNA/RNA Mini Kit, the kit uses 52% less plastic and 58% less cardboard, with Waste Tubes made from 100% post-consumer recycled plastic that can be reused throughout the procedure. Buffers are supplied as concentrates, reducing plastic per bottle by up to 90%. The kit can be stored at room temperature (15–25°C) for at least 12 months and carries a 21.7% lower Environmental Impact Factor in the US than the AllPrep DNA/RNA Mini Kit.
