QIAwave DNA Blood & Tissue Kit (250)

An eco-friendlier alternative to the standard DNeasy Blood & Tissue Kit, the QIAwave DNA Blood & Tissue Kit from QIAGEN is designed for efficient isolation of genomic DNA from blood, tissue, cells, yeast, and bacteria. The kit uses 63% less plastic and 42% less cardboard than the standard version, with waste tubes made from 100% post-consumer recycled plastic that can be reused throughout the procedure. QIAwave buffers come as concentrates, reducing the amount of plastic by 74–80% per bottle, and there are no printed protocols in the kit — users can download protocols from QIAGEN's Resources page or scan the QR code on the kit lid. Note that sterile glass bottles are required for buffer reconstitution.

The kit produces high-quality DNA suitable for downstream assays including PCR and NGS, with applications spanning life science research, livestock breeding, pedigree genotyping, veterinary pathogen research, and routine applied testing. Validated protocols support a variety of sample types to ensure reproducible yields, and the chemistry and performance are identical to the standard kit despite the updated packaging.

For convenience, the kit can be stored at room temperature (15–25°C) for up to 1 year after delivery and can be automated on the QIAcube Connect using the DNeasy Blood & Tissue Kit protocols. Contents include DNeasy Mini Spin Columns, Proteinase K, Buffers, and Waste Tubes (2 ml).
