Description

A hybridization capture panel from QIAGEN designed for targeted enrichment of human exonic sequences from indexed whole genome NGS libraries prepared for Illumina instruments. The panel is part of the QIAseq xHYB Human Hybrid Capture Panels family and has a target region size of 12.3 Mb.

According to the QIAseq Human Exome Handbook, the workflow uses biotinylated probes to capture library fragments containing exonic sequences, with hybridization achievable in as little as 30 minutes. After hybridization, probes and bound library fragments are immobilized on beads via Biotin-Streptavidin interaction. Nonspecific targets are removed through a series of washing steps, and specific targets are amplified using the Post Hybrid-Capture PCR Mix, which provides even amplification across DNA regions with vastly different GC content.

The panel supports combining up to 8 indexed whole genome libraries in a single hybrid capture reaction. It is intended for molecular biology applications and is not intended for the diagnosis, prevention, or treatment of a disease.
