Built for plant transcriptomics where input is scarce and PCR inhibitors complicate workflows, this 24-reaction kit from QIAGEN combines random-primed reverse transcription with template-switching chemistry to capture full-length cDNA from both polyadenylated and non-polyadenylated transcripts. The chemistry tolerates polyphenols and polysaccharides commonly found in leaf, root, and meristem extracts, allowing reliable library construction from tissues that yield low RNA quantities.

Library preparation is supported from picogram amounts of plant RNA down to single-cell inputs, with Unique Molecular Identifiers (UMIs) integrated during reverse transcription to remove PCR duplication bias in downstream quantification. The single-tube format reduces handling steps and pipetting loss, and all reagents are validated for compatibility with Illumina sequencing instruments including NextSeq and NovaSeq platforms.
