QIAseq Universal Normalizer Kit (96)

Designed by QIAGEN for the normalization of next-generation sequencing (NGS) libraries prior to sequencing on Illumina instruments, this universal kit eliminates the need for prior library quantification. The chemistry relies on modified library amplification primers and magnetic beads that bind and release a defined amount of library molecules in a tightly controlled fashion, yielding normalized libraries at a common target concentration of approximately 4 nmol/L.

The procedure follows a simple bind–wash–elute workflow compatible with virtually all libraries that can be sequenced on Illumina sequencing instruments, including QIAGEN and third-party library preparation workflows. Prior to normalization, libraries must be modified using the included Normalizer Primer Mix. A 2-cycle PCR in the presence of the Normalizer Primer Mix adds modifications to virtually any Illumina library with intact P5/P7 ends (Workflow A). For workflows using ligation of full-length indexed-adapters, library modifications can be applied during library preparation without an additional PCR step (Workflow B). The kit is not compatible with PCR-free library preparation.

Normalized libraries are double-stranded DNA that can be safely stored at -20°C and may optionally be assayed on standard capillary electrophoresis instruments. Each lot is tested against predetermined specifications under QIAGEN's ISO-certified quality management system. The product is intended for molecular biology applications and is not intended for the diagnosis, prevention, or treatment of a disease. The kit is shipped in four boxes at different temperatures: the QIAseq Normalizer Reagent Kit and QIAseq Beads should be stored at 2–8°C (do not freeze), while the QIAseq Normalizer Primer Kit and QIAseq Normalizer PCR Kit should be stored at -15 to -30°C upon arrival.
