QIAseq Stranded RNA Lib Kit UDI-B (96)

QIAGEN offers this stranded RNA library preparation system for next-generation sequencing applications, supporting the construction of strand-specific RNA-seq libraries from total RNA or mRNA-enriched input. The kit provides buffers and reagents for RNA fragmentation, reverse transcription, second-strand synthesis combined with end-repair and A-addition, adapter ligation, CleanStart PCR enrichment, and QIAseq Beads for library cleanups, and is intended for use with Illumina sequencing instruments.

The workflow uses a Y-shaped dual-index adapter plate with a pierceable foil seal that allows defined sections of the plate to be used. The unique dual-index adapters support multiplexed sequencing workflows. The optimized reverse transcriptase and buffers achieve strand specificity without requiring toxic reagents such as Actinomycin D. A dedicated strand-specific ligation step establishes strand specificity without additional reagents, and the HiFi PCR Mix uses a high-fidelity, hot-start DNA polymerase to amplify libraries irrespective of GC content.

When paired with QIAGEN FastSelect kits (sold separately), rRNA and/or globin mRNA can be removed during library preparation in a single step, with the reagent capable of removing up to 99% of unwanted rRNA and/or globin mRNA even from degraded samples such as formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded material. Together, these kits enable preparation of strand-specific NGS libraries from total RNA in less than 5 hours. The kit is intended for molecular biology applications and is not intended for the diagnosis, prevention, or treatment of a disease.
