QIAseq FastSelect –rRNA Yeast Kit (384)

This kit from QIAGEN supports rapid rRNA removal for RNA-seq library preparation from yeast samples. It is designed to remove highly abundant RNA of low scientific value from RNA-seq libraries, helping researchers performing whole transcriptome analysis.

The workflow uses sequence-specific blocking oligonucleotides to prevent reverse transcription of yeast rRNA, increasing informative transcript reads without physical rRNA removal. It targets cytoplasmic rRNA species — 35S (made up of 25S, 18S and 5.8S), 25S, 18S, 5.8S and 5S — as well as mitochondrial species including 21S, 15S, ACI60_gr01 (large subunit ribosomal RNA) and ACI60_gr02 (small subunit ribosomal RNA).
