QIAseq FastSelect –rRNA HMR Kit (96)

Designed for RNA-seq workflows, the QIAGEN QIAseq FastSelect technology rapidly removes cytoplasmic and mitochondrial rRNA from human, mouse, rat, and other mammalian RNA samples during NGS library preparation. The one-step protocol combines the FastSelect reagent directly with total RNA and any reaction buffers used for RNA heat fragmentation; after the optional heat fragmentation, the reaction is gradually cooled to room temperature, and the remaining library-preparation-specific steps continue without additional enzymatic cleanups or RNA depletion steps. QIAseq FastSelect is designed to work equally well with high-quality RNA and highly fragmented samples, and in one step removes up to 99% of unwanted cytoplasmic and mitochondrial rRNA from mammalian RNA libraries. It is compatible with total RNA- and mRNA-enriched samples isolated from cells, fresh/frozen tissue, FFPE tissue, whole blood, and serum/plasma samples, including exosomes, and has been tested with stranded RNA library prep kits from QIAGEN, Illumina, NEB, and Roche. For whole-blood total RNA, the rRNA HMR reagent must be combined with the matching Globin reagent; for mRNA-enriched samples, only the Globin reagent is required.

The workflow supports inputs from 1 ng to 1 µg of total RNA and completes rRNA and/or globin removal in 14 minutes. All components are shipped on blue ice or dry ice and, once in the lab, are stored in a constant-temperature freezer at -30 to -15°C.
