QIAseq FastSelect -rRNA HMR Kit (24)

Designed for RNA-focused next-generation sequencing workflows, this QIAGEN kit rapidly removes cytoplasmic and mitochondrial ribosomal RNA from human, mouse, rat, and other mammalian samples during NGS library preparation. The reagent works during the reverse transcription step and completes rRNA removal in just 14 minutes, accommodating inputs from 1 ng to 1 µg of total RNA. In one step, the technology removes up to 99% of unwanted cytoplasmic and mitochondrial rRNA from RNA libraries.

Tested species compatibility shows rRNA knockdown of 98% in human, 98% in mouse, 97% in rat, 98% in cow, 95% in hamster, 98% in horse, 95% in sheep, 90% in dog, 88% in cynomolgus monkey, 82% in chicken, 81% in rabbit, and 80% in pig samples. The kit is compatible with stranded RNA library preparation kits from QIAGEN, Illumina, NEB, and Roche, and works with total RNA- and mRNA-enriched samples from cells, fresh/frozen tissue, FFPE tissue, whole blood, and serum/plasma samples, including exosomes.

For whole-blood work, the −rRNA HMR reagent must be combined with the FastSelect −Globin kit, which routinely delivers 95–99% globin mRNA removal. Components are shipped on blue ice or dry ice and stored at −30 to −15 °C in a constant-temperature freezer. Each lot is tested against predetermined specifications under QIAGEN's ISO-certified Quality Management System.
