QIAseq FastSelect -rRNA/Globin Kit (96)

QIAGEN's QIAseq FastSelect −rRNA/Globin Kit removes cytoplasmic and mitochondrial ribosomal RNA and globin mRNA during stranded NGS library preparation from human, mouse, rat, and other mammalian total RNA samples. In one step, the kit removes up to 99% of unwanted rRNA and/or globin mRNA from 1 ng − 1 µg of total RNA in 14 minutes during the reverse transcription step, with no additional enzymatic cleanups. It is compatible with high-quality and fragmented RNA, including FFPE, and works with stranded library preparation kits from QIAGEN, Illumina, NEB, and Roche, applied to cells, fresh or frozen tissue, FFPE tissue, whole blood, and serum/plasma (including exosomes).

Across the species panel listed in the handbook, the −rRNA HMR reagent achieves 98% knockdown in human, 98% in mouse, and 97% in rat total RNA; other tested mammals range from 80% (pig) to 98% (cow, horse), with chicken at 82%. The −Globin reagent delivers 95–99% removal of globin mRNA from human, mouse, and rat whole-blood total RNA. All components are shipped on blue ice or dry ice and stored at −30 to −15°C. The kit is intended for molecular biology applications and is not intended for the diagnosis, prevention, or treatment of disease.
