QIAseq FastSelect -rRNA/Globin Kit (24)

For RNA-seq library preparation, the QIAseq FastSelect -rRNA/Globin Kit from QIAGEN provides rapid removal of ribosomal RNA (rRNA) and globin messenger RNA (mRNA) from human, mouse, rat, and other mammalian samples. The one-step workflow integrates directly into the reverse transcription stage of NGS library preparation, eliminating the need for additional enzymatic cleanups or separate RNA depletion steps.

The kit is compatible with both total RNA- and mRNA-enriched samples from cells, fresh/frozen tissue, formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissue, whole blood, and serum/plasma samples such as exosomes. Input amounts range from 1 ng to 1 µg of total RNA, and removal of rRNA and/or globin mRNA can be accomplished in 14 minutes. The technology removes up to 99% of unwanted cytoplasmic and mitochondrial rRNA and/or globin mRNA, with 95–99% removal of globin mRNA routinely observed in whole blood total RNA from human, mouse, and rat. Compared with previous kit versions, the process is 30% faster.

Compatible with stranded library preparation kits from QIAGEN, Illumina, NEB, and Roche, the kit performs equally well with high-quality and highly fragmented RNA inputs. When removing globin, two additional cycles of CleanStart Library Amplification must be performed. All components are shipped on blue ice or dry ice and should be stored at −30 to −15 °C in a constant-temperature freezer. The product is intended for molecular biology applications and is not for the diagnosis, prevention, or treatment of disease.
