QIAseq FastSelect –rRNA Fly Kit (96)

High-throughput rRNA depletion for fly (Drosophila) RNA-seq studies is provided by QIAGEN's QIAseq FastSelect reagent set, which uses a novel method to remove highly abundant RNA of low scientific value from RNA-seq libraries. The design removes all annotated rRNAs in RefSeq and Ensembl for Drosophila melanogaster, covering both cytoplasmic and mitochondrial rRNA, and depending on target rRNA sequence homology, also supports additional fly species.

The workflow is optimized for batch processing to maximize informative sequencing reads and improve transcriptome coverage across many samples, and it reduces rRNA carryover to enrich mRNA and microbial transcripts. The reagents are compatible with standard library preparation workflows, and QIAGEN recommends pairing the kit with QIAseq Stranded RNA Library Kits for robust strand-specific RNA-seq library preparation, including for high-quality and highly fragmented (FFPE) RNA.
