QIAGEN presents a plant-specific RNA depletion kit designed to remove abundant ribosomal and other highly expressed plant RNAs during RNA-seq library preparation. The product uses tailored oligonucleotide blockers for common plant rRNA sequences to enhance data quality, integrates directly into library-prep workflows without extra enzymatic steps, and is compatible with a range of plant tissue RNA inputs and NGS platforms, improving transcriptome coverage in plant research by reducing non-informative reads.

The underlying QIAseq FastSelect RNA Library Kit technology supports stranded RNA-seq library construction for transcript identification, fusion gene discovery and high-throughput gene expression. Input RNA may be high-quality or fragmented, enabling library preparation from tissues, exosomes, FFPE samples and cell lines, with compatibility also noted for RNA from eukaryotic, prokaryotic and fungal samples.
