QIAseq FastSelect RNA Lib Blood Kit (24)

For RNA-seq studies on blood-derived samples, this QIAGEN reagent set reduces abundant blood transcripts such as globin during library preparation, increasing the fraction of informative reads. Designed to deplete high-abundance transcripts and improve sensitivity for low-abundance transcripts, the kit integrates into standard RNA-seq workflows in a scalable format suited to small studies.

As part of the QIAseq FastSelect family, the workflow enables stranded RNA-seq library construction with ribosomal RNA removal performed during cDNA synthesis. In one step, FastSelect removes up to 99% of unwanted rRNA, including from degraded inputs such as formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded (FFPE) material. The complete workflow from RNA to sequencing-ready library typically takes less than 5 hours of total time, with 2.5 hours of hands-on time. Library construction can start from 1 ng of total RNA and supports high-quality total RNA, fragmented FFPE RNA and enriched mRNA. Compatible sample types include tissues, exosomes, FFPE samples, cell lines, and RNA from eukaryotic, prokaryotic and fungal sources. Reverse transcription can use random hexamers, oligo-dT, or a combination of both. The resulting libraries retain strand and directionality of the original transcript.

Up to 768 unique dual indices can be incorporated in a single PCR step using QIAseq UX Index Kits. Data analysis is supported through QIAGEN's RNA-seq Analysis Portal for FASTQ processing, differential gene expression and pathway analysis, and through QIAGEN CLC Genomics Workbench (sold separately).
