QIAGEN's QIAseq Custom Targeted Methyl Panel is a custom-designed targeted methylation sequencing solution offered as a single-day workflow for studying DNA methylation status. The service covers 1–100 genomic targets and is intended for targeted next-generation sequencing (NGS) approaches that interrogate CpG sites across the genome.

Panels are built on QIAseq Enrichment Technology, which uses a single target-specific primer together with a universal primer to increase design efficiency and improve sensitivity for challenging samples. The workflow incorporates bisulfite conversion of input DNA followed by end repair and target enrichment, during which Unique Molecular Indices (UMIs) are added to the library to enable duplicate removal and error-corrected methylation calling. Recommended template amounts are 1–100 ng for fresh gDNA, 10–200 ng for FFPE DNA, and 10–100 ng for ccfDNA, supporting diverse sample types including tissues, cells, and biofluids.

According to the manufacturer, the panels deliver high mapping efficiency and high reproducibility for methylation degree measurements, with correlation to established methods reported across sample types. Custom target selection is supported, with the resulting probe/assay set optimized for QIAseq Targeted Methyl library preparation and integration into existing NGS pipelines.
