QIAseq 16S/ITS Smart Control (10)

From QIAGEN, this control material is designed to monitor QIAseq 16S/ITS library preparation and sequencing. It provides positive and/or process-control templates to verify successful library prep and sequencing runs, and serves as a quality-assurance tool for troubleshooting sample prep, indexing, and sequencing performance. The control is used alongside test samples to confirm workflow integrity, and should be applied according to the QIAseq control protocol and storage recommendations.

QIAseq 16S/ITS Panels are part of the Sample to Insight solution for robust profiling of bacterial and fungal communities, developed to sequence 16S rRNA and ITS regions on Illumina platforms. The panels use phased primers to increase read quality and base calling while eliminating the need for PhiX spike-in. They incorporate low-biocargo reagents to reduce background contamination, examine all variable regions of 16S RNA, and allow low DNA input so that low-biomass samples can be analysed.

The Smart Control is shipped on dry ice or blue ice and, together with the QIAseq 16S/ITS index kits, should be stored at -30 to -15 °C on arrival.
