QIAamp Fast DNA Stool Mini Kit (50)

QIAGEN's stool DNA extraction kit is engineered for rapid purification of high-quality genomic DNA from fresh or frozen stool samples, capturing both human and bacterial DNA. An integrated inhibitor removal step addresses compounds commonly found in stool that can otherwise suppress or distort downstream reactions.

A novel InhibitEX Buffer replaces traditional inhibitor removal tablets, efficiently depleting PCR inhibitors such as complex polysaccharides, bile salts, lipids, and urate. This enables reliable detection by quantitative real-time PCR, and QIAGEN reports consistently lower CT values compared with solutions from other suppliers. The protocol uses fewer steps than common methods, reducing hands-on time, and avoids hazardous organic chemicals.

According to QIAGEN, typical DNA yields obtained with the kit are 5–50 µg, which the manufacturer states is consistently higher than those reported for comparable purification kits. The procedure can be performed manually with a microcentrifuge or automated on the QIAcube Connect system.
