QIAamp DSP DNA Blood Mini Kit (50), CE

From QIAGEN, this CE-marked kit uses established silica-membrane (QIAamp) technology to isolate and purify genomic DNA from human whole blood for in vitro diagnostic use. The procedure processes 200 µl whole blood samples, lysed under denaturing conditions with QIAGEN Protease and Lysis Buffer (AL) at 56°C for 10 minutes, before ethanol is added to optimize DNA binding to the QIAamp Mini spin column membrane.

Bound DNA is washed with two buffers (AW1 and AW2) and eluted in 50–200 µl of Elution Buffer (AE). Sample handling can be manual—either by centrifugation or using a vacuum manifold—or fully automated on the QIAcube Connect MDx. Whole blood collected in EDTA- or citrate-containing tubes (including BD Vacutainer, Sarstedt S-Monovette, and Greiner Bio-One Vacuette formats) is compatible, and frozen samples may be thawed up to three times without compromising DNA recovery.

Purified genomic DNA is suitable for downstream detection procedures in molecular diagnostics, such as PCR, as well as genotyping and sequencing applications. Eluted DNA can be stored short-term at 2–8°C or long-term at −20°C.
