QIAamp DNA Micro Kit (50)

From QIAGEN, this kit simplifies purification of genomic and mitochondrial DNA using a fast spin-column procedure based on silica-membrane technology. Optimised protocols are included for small amounts of fresh or frozen blood, tissue and dried blood spots, as well as small sample materials such as blood cards, urine and laser microdissections.

The procedure delivers DNA that is free of proteins, nucleases and other impurities, with flexible elution volumes of between 20 and 100 µL and yields of less than 3 µg from sample amounts of 1–100 µL. Manual processing can be carried out by centrifugation or vacuum, using a microcentrifuge or the QIAvac 24 Plus manifold, and the workflow is also automatable on the QIAcube Connect. A typical run or prep takes around 30 minutes.

Purified DNA is suitable for sensitive downstream applications, including real-time PCR, short-tandem repeat (STR) analysis, laser microdissection (LMD) PCR, single-nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) genotyping and pharmacogenomic research.
